The ASEA/AFSCME Local 52 Health Benefits Trust (the ASEA Health Trust) was originally formed in November 2000 to provide service to the permanent and long-term, non-permanent employees of the State of Alaska General Government Unit covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the State of Alaska and ASEA/AFSCME Local 52.

In March 2019, the Trust Agreement was amended to allow members from other collective bargaining units and public-sector employers. The ASEA Health Trust currently provides health benefits coverage to approximately 7300 members and 9200 of their eligible family members.
